Best Canadian attractions

Stretching across an immense and unique landscape, Canada has become one of the most visited places on earth and we understand why.

From tundra landscapes to vibrant coastal cities with long histories, Canada has a diverse and eclectic mix of people, culture, foods, and fun.

So, if you’re looking to visit Canada but find yourself a little lost on where to start, don’t worry. We’ve got you covered! Here are our picks for the best things to do in Canada.

Notre Dame Basilica Of Montreal

There is no better way to get a feel for the Montreal and Canadian soul than to visit the Notre Dame Basilica of Montreal. The interior is the epitome of Gothic Revival architecture and is considered one of the most dramatic examples of the style in the world.

For us, the starry ceiling, deep tones, and extravagant art were some of the best we’d ever seen. It’s a must-see spot for anyone into architecture, art, or history.

Butchart Gardens

The Butchart Gardens is what Alice in Wonderland in Canada would look like. The massive garden is filled with manicured flora displays that look great in both summer and winter. To top it all off, the garden has themed areas for an extra dose of whimsy.

If you weren’t convinced yet, then visit the Butchart Gardens for one of the most epic fireworks displays ever!

Niagara Falls

No Canada travel list would be complete without Niagara Falls. The iconic falls are massive, with mist that reflects rainbows and views that inspire art. It’s also the most visited destination in Canada.

After you’ve enjoyed the spray, the view, and the wonder of the falls, head into the local casino or to one of the many shops for Niagara Falls-inspired food and activities.

Ripley’s Aquarium

For a fun-filled family day, we recommend visiting Ripley’s Aquarium. With over 5 million liters and dozens of massive tanks, it’s no surprise that this aquarium is one of the biggest and most popular in Canada

The world-class aquarium features many awesome exhibits and fish displays. There’s also an aquarium tunnel, educational classes for the kids, and a souvenir shop.

Capilano Suspension Bridge

For adrenaline junkies, we recommend the Capilano Suspension Bridge. The bridge stretches 140 meters through the rainforest canopy and 70 meters above the ground. Crossing it is an intense and exciting experience that is bound to get your blood pumping.

The surrounding park is also very beautiful to explore and makes for a great day out with the family.

Royal Ontario Museum

When in Ontario, we think checking out the Royal Ontario Museum is a must. The art, natural history, and world culture museum is jam-packed with fascinating exhibits that feature everything from art pieces to artifacts that are thousands of years old.

The museum is also the largest field research facility in Canada and helps with essential conservation efforts.

Banff National Park

In our opinion, you haven’t seen Canada until you’ve seen a glacial lake. Established in 1885, Banff National Park is the oldest national park in the country and easily the most impressive.

The mountainous region is breathtaking, with views that stretch for miles. The bright blue glacial lakes, like Glacier Lake and Hector Lake, are another iconic Canadian sight.

Besides the views, the region also has a ton of recreational activities. You can bike, swim, ski, hike, and end the day with a soak in a hot spring.

St. Lawrence Market

Get to know the local craft and food scene with St. Lawrence Market. The massive St. Lawrence building complex houses one of the most visited markets in Canada. It sells everything from amazing arts and crafts – which make great souvenirs – to street food and delicious fruits and vegetables.
