A 78-year-old woman from Bavaria suddenly went under while bathing in the Baltic Sea in Scharbeutz (Ostholstein district) on Sunday. Why is unclear. According to the police, her escorts made sure that the vacationer got professional help quickly. It was said that his life was in danger. A police spokesman could not say how the woman is doing now.
Already on Saturday, two other people got into trouble while bathing in the Bay of Lübeck. In Lübeck-Travemünde, a 23-year-old man from Hamburg suddenly fainted while swimming. According to previous findings, he had swallowed too much water. Other bathers rushed to the young man’s aid and brought him ashore. An ambulance took care of him and took him to a hospital.
