Indonesian flag carrier Garuda Indonesia announced that it would offer a round-trip flight from Narita to Manado starting as soon as March 2, 2023. This flight will be the second route already operated by Garuda connecting Indonesia and Japan apart from the Jakarta – Denpasar route.
“The Narita – Manado round trip flight will be a once-a-week service that operates the A330-300 that is able to carry 251 passengers. 36 in business class and 215 in economy class,” said Garuda President Director Irfan Setiaputra in a written statement on Friday, February 24, 2023.
Flights departing from Manado will be on Thursdays while the flight from Tokyo’s Narita to Manado will depart every Tuesday. Departures will be from the Sam Ratulangi International Airport.
The two flight schedules—both outbound and inbound—will be served via Denpasar, one of Indonesia’s popular destinations as well as Indonesia’s strategic tourism hub.
Irfan elaborated that the steps to optimize production capacity which was carried out by providing access to various leading destinations would be implemented through the gradual expansion of the flight network.
“Especially towards destinations with promising market opportunities,” he concluded.
